Ahn Wells started working in printmaking and photography, and has since moved on to work with paper. She pierces, sews, scratches, then draws onto surfaces, before piecing them together in multiple layers of shape, texture and pattern. Her photographic background is occasionally reflected in the small scale abstracted designs and delicate compositions. Her works also show the influence of design and craft. There are hints of the domestic through repetition and the physical interaction with the process. The work is obsessive yet graceful.
